The room at Tekapo 1929 was cozy and comfortable. It felt like home away from home, with a private bathroom and kitchen facilities in some rooms. I loved having my own space and being able to cook my own meals. It made me feel like a true local!
Personally, I found the proximity to the Penncroft-King Room a bit noisy at times. But hey, different strokes for different folks, right?

Amazing owner, friendly and easy to talk to. Very clean and tidy property. Comfortable beds and couch. Stunning lake view from the front yard. Great location, close to Tekapo Center. New bathroom with floor heating.
Didn't dislike anything about the property.

The room at Tekapo 1929 was cozy and comfortable, giving me all those warm and fuzzy feelings. Plus, having a separate private bathroom was a major win for me. I loved having my own space to freshen up after a day of exploring.
Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of the kitchen facilities in some of the rooms. It's just my personal preference, but I found them a bit small.

The location of the hotel is perfect, slightly outside of town in a quiet neighborhood with stunning views of the lake. The famous Church of the Good Shepherd is just a short 5-minute walk away. The rooms are cozy and nicely decorated, with a fully equipped kitchen and a separate area with a fridge, toaster, and kettle. The bathroom is modern and clean, with a bathtub and floor heating.
It was a bit disappointing that the windows couldn't be opened at night, and the illuminated EXIT sign behind the curtains was a bit strange.

Personally, I found the location of the apartment next to the Penncroft-King Room a bit noisy at times. But hey, that's just me!

The room at Tekapo 1929 was absolutely stunning! It had a cozy and warm atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The separate private bathroom was a bonus, providing us with privacy and comfort. We loved the location next to the Penncroft-King Room, as it added a touch of charm to our stay. And to top it off, some rooms even had kitchen facilities, making it convenient for us to prepare meals for our little ones.
I personally would have preferred if the room had a bit more natural light. But hey, that's just my opinion!

The cozy and rustic atmosphere, along with the breathtaking view, made it the best place we stayed during our trip to New Zealand. The staff was fantastic and easy to reach via text whenever we needed assistance. We were even lucky enough to receive a room upgrade, which allowed us to enjoy a full kitchen and a spacious house for our three-night stay. Thank you Tekapo 1929 for providing such a relaxing and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

Lovely lake views with amusingly thin walls for easy eavesdropping. The bathroom with heated floors and skylights was delightful while dealing with poorly lit treacherous pathways. Also, the chicken ornaments need a makeover.

We had a wonderful stay at Tekapo 1929 Villa. the location was unbeatable, with a quiet setting close to the waterfront. It was just a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre, which made it convenient for exploring. the bed was very comfortable, and we slept well during our stay. the interior of the villa was clean and well-maintained, with soft bed linen and towels. the house had a charming exterior and the views from the location were simply amazing. Gordon, the staff member, was incredibly nice and helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Cons: Couldn't stay longer 😔.

The value for money at this hotel was exceptional, and the room itself was cozy and rustic with an amazing view. The location was perfect and the staff were friendly and easily accessible.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast better was more variety in the food options.

The room's historic furniture combined with a modern bathroom design was mind-blowing. So spacious, comfortable, and bonus points for the amazing warmer and window in the bathroom. The ancient style room key was super cool. The location was jaw-dropping, perfect for star gazing and photography. The view of the lake was stunning, with seats in the front yard to relax and enjoy it. The two heatpumps provided both cooling and warmth, the beds and couch were incredibly comfortable. It was close enough to town to walk, and the unlimited wifi was a plus.
